Knights Activity Book
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 1998)
Average review score:

Great traveling bookThis book would probably be best for someone above 7 years old, as some of the mazes and puzzles would be frustrating for a younger person. There's enough variety in the types of activities that it kept my young friend busy for a long part of a drive from TX to CA. The pictures are detailed and good, with a sprinkling of education scattered among the games.

Korea's Golden Age: Cultural Spirit of Silla in Kyongju
Published in Paperback by Charles E Tuttle Co (September, 1991)
Average review score:

Comprehensive, reliable, and fascinatingAn exhaustive account of the architectural and cultural heritage of Korea's Kyongju valley region, illustrated with stunning and provocative pictures by the author. This book is amazingly comprehensive--the author manages to grasp the usually elusive interplay between architecture and mythology that books of this type generally miss.

LA Vida, El Universo Y Todo Lo Demas/Life, the Universe and Everything
Published in Paperback by Lectorum Pubns (Juv) (September, 1985)
Average review score:

Complex and SatisfyingIf you've read Douglas Adams before, you'll know what I mean. I love his writing and his original thoughts and the complex plots he comes up with. It's nice to see that it is being translated. If you're trying to read this, it helps if you've read the other books in the series first. otherwise, you might not understand some things. Anyway, the story goes that -- wait. You know the game of cricket, right? Well, apparently cricket started from the war that the people of Krikket (who hated the space above them) had against the rest of the universe. The people of Krikket hate everything else so much that they want to annihilate it. However, they were stopped a long time ago. Now, there planet is locked up in itself and will only be unlocked after the end of the Universe when they will be free and be alone in the Universe (which is what they want). However, some of their killer whit robots have somehow started gaining the Wooden Pillar, the Plastic Pillar, the Steel Pillar, the Golden Bail, and a purple award from a party, which are the keys to unlock Krikket. But how are Arthur Dent, Slartibarfast, Trillian, Zaphod, and Ford Prefect going to stop these killer robots?

Lady in the Moon
Published in Hardcover by Unole Pub Co (November, 1996)
Average review score:

Second in the series of writings of the author's life story.LADY IN THE MOON begins with the death of her beloved mother, Alethea's dearest friend, and it ends with the author's triumphant recovery from intractable grief. In her own inimitable style, this Cherokee mountain woman takes her readers inside a secluded cabin in the hills of Eastern Kentucky to experience a seven-year period of life as a recluse: warding off thieves and would-be rapists, living on rattlesnake and pinto beans, drowning her sorrow in moonshine whiskey, and missing her Mama with every waking breath. LADY IN THE MOON is a book reminiscent of Annie Oakley and the Wild West, but the story is as contemporary as pain and grief.

Lameness in Horses/Abridged
Published in Paperback by Lea & Febiger (July, 1987)
Average review score:

Lameness in HorsesI have owned the abridged third edition of "Lameness in Horses" for over 15 years. It is a shame that it is out of print as I have found it to be an invaluable resource over the years. Even though O.R. Adams died in 79' this book has been kept updated. As a basic reference for lameness you won't find a more in depth book. Almost every equine lameness is reviewed with a detailed "definition", "etiology", "signs", "diagnosis" and "treatment". Chapter 1 starts off with the relationship between conformation and lameness. Chapter 2 goes into detail of the hoof. Chapter 3 is examination for soundness including the breeding stallion. Chapter 4 is diagnosis of lameness. Chapter 5 is disease of bones, structures and related joints. Chapter 6 is "Lameness", in my opinion it is the best part of the book. Chapter 7 & 8 deal with horseshoes and trimming. Of particular interest is Chapter 9, which gives shoeing recommendations for various problems. . Chapter 10 is natural and artificial gaits. Chapter 11 is methods of therapy. This is an excellent reference book.

Land Lords of the World: Justice and Prosperity Vs. Injustice and Poverty
Published in Hardcover by Vantage Press (April, 1997)
Average review score:

This book should be read by everyone.I borrowed this book from a friend at his encouragement. It is such an important book that I intend to secure my own copy so that I can study it. It was a great wake up call to realize that most common people are only pawns for the big banks. We have been lied to about so many things even our money is a lie. I thought it was government backed, it is not. The Federal Reserve is not part of the government, it is owned by banks owned by private landlords. Every person who wishes to know what is really happening in our country should read this book.

The Last of the Plainsmen
Published in Audio CD by Blackstone Audiobooks (September, 2000)
Average review score:

Mountain Lions in Arizona, c.1908This book is an outstanding true account of a trip made by Zane Grey and a plainsman, Buffalo Jones - one of the last. Jones was a famous sportsmen in North America at the turn of the 20th century and Grey a famous author of adventure stories. Unlike many of Grey's fictional novels of the old west, this is an account of a trip made to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon about 1908, for the purpose of tracking and capturing mountain lions. In those days, the North Rim was famous for the number and size of cougars - one mentioned in the book was 10' long, tip of tail to nape of neck, and weighed 300 pounds. The story is riveting with many details of the Arizona high desert and Grand Canyon areas of that era and gives a wonderful account of the Ponderosa Pine forest now known as the Kaibab National Forest. The details given about the behavior of the mountain lion are well worth finding a copy of this classic work. Grey includes a chapter (XV) entitled "Jones on Cougars", in which he relates the wisdom of this plainsman on the species - gained through a long life in the wilderness including a sojourn as a game warden in the Yellowstone National Park, where he captured numerous cougars alive and killed seventy-two. Although modern views of the mountain lion seem to consider this animal more like an oversized, undomesticated sort of house cat, after reading this book you will definitely treat them with appropriate dignity and caution.
